FAQ's

1. How much does an assessment cost?

Costs differ depending on the therapy service you wish to access i.e. speech language therapy vs psychology. Fees can be found under "Important Info".

2. How much is ongoing therapy?

Therapy is charged at a rate of $100 per hour (GST incl) for OT/PT/SLT and $146.25 per hour (GST incl) for Psychology. Therapy sessions are usually between 30-60 minutes depending on needs of the child.

3. Is there a discount for booking blocks of therapy?

Yes, we offer a  discount on blocks of therapy booked and paid for in advance (minimum of 6 x 30 minute sessions). Please contact us to discuss in more detail.

4. Can I be present for the therapy session?

Yes, we encourage family members/carers to be present during sessions in order for you to see what we are doing and so you are able to follow up activities at home.

5. Can you see my child at home / pre-school / school?

Yes, we are happy to conduct assessments/therapy sessions in environments outside of our therapy rooms, however travel costs will be incurred. (See costs under "Important Info - Fees")

6. Do you offer training for schools/pre-schools?

Yes - we are able to offer a range of different training packages for both schools and pre-schools. We can provide these either at Therapy for Children offices or at the school/pre-school. Please contact us to discuss specific requirements.

7. Are all your therapists registered?

Yes - all therapists are registered with the appropriate organisations and undergo regular supervision. Current practising certificates are held by the Managing Director and can be sited on request.

8.  How soon can you see my child?

Therapists endeavour to contact you within three days of receiving a referral.  An appointment will then be set at a mutually convenient time.

9.  What geographical areas do you cover?

Therapy for Children  are located in Bucklands Beach, Manukau.  Therapists prefer to complete full assessments at the therapy rooms.  However, follow up therapy can be in your home, school/pre school (see "Important Info" section for travel costs) within the greater Auckland area.  If you are able to travel from out of town to Therapy for Children, we can arrange a suitable assessment time.
